M2C explains on its website that the main driver behind creating an all-new tent was feedback from consumers. A lot of people liked the idea of modular, interconnectable tents but did not like the Pod tent pricing, which starts at US$625 for the four-person model, as listed today. The Pod was created purely as a larger, more premium offering, so in attempting to bring price down, M2C created a whole new design, aiming the lower pricing and quick, simple set-up at a broader customer base.
The bottom front part of the tent has hooks that connect to the bottom of the canopy poles. Once the front of the tent is connected, you stretch out the tent and one pole is placed into the slots located in the back part of the tent. Stake the back corners, and bam you have a 4 person tent that is attached to your canopy.
On the other hand, choosing the biggest tents possible may not always be the wisest option, as they can be much heavier, be tricky to put up for one or two people, and may take up too much space in your vehicle. Two smaller tents side by side rather than one large tent may also give you more privacy, which can be a bonus for longer holidays or when children are of varying ages. Parents may want to keep younger children in the main tent with them, while older children or teens might enjoy the use of a single or double swag.
Once the canopy is upright, you can attach either one or two of the tents. The tents snap onto the canopy base, and a pole is placed into the back part of the tent to erect it. Stake down the corners and you are ready to go with a completely set up tent, complete with hangout and outdoor shade. Not a bad deal at all!The tents themselves are not free standing, so if you want to pitch them you need to setup the canopy. You can move the tents into different positions on the canopy, either creating an L shaped layout or having them be across from each other. If you want to, you can setup just the canopy without the tents.
Both canvas (cotton) tents and tents made from man-made materials such as Nylon, PVC and others have their pros and cons and you will find as many people choosing one as the other for varying reasons. Canvas tents are made of a more breathable material and have god insulating properties, keeping you cooler in hot weather and warmer in cold times. Man-made materials are lighter and easier to handle, but may be less comfortable in very hot situations. They are also often cheaper than canvas tents and have the benefit of being easier to care for. A canvas tent will not take kindly to being packed away damp, developing mould and mildew much more easily than a polyester tent.
This is a really fun tent for any situation where you want a private space at night, but a big outdoor social gathering space before bedtime. How this tent works is really simple, you clip the hooks that are located at the top front part of the tent to the top of the canopy (there is a built in slot for you to hook into).
